M Corp’s website, created in conjunction with advertising agency EMRL, was recently recognized by the Interactive Media Awards (IMA) as a top example of online design.

EMRL’s Creative Director was inspired by M Corp’s culture to make them a site that’s as fun as they are.

The IMA is an international awards competition recognizing excellence in web design, development, marketing and innovation. The program is governed by the Interactive Media Council Inc., a New York City-based nonprofit dedicated to raising the standards of excellence on the Internet.

EMRL’s Creative Director, Floyd Diebel was “inspired by M Corp’s culture, to make them a site that’s as cool as they are.” It was a great collaborative effort; Diebel notes that the two companies “really pushed each other” to bring out the best ideas.

The judging consisted of various criteria, including design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance, and content. In order to win the Best in Class award, the site had to meet strict guidelines in each area — an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn.

Featured judges included representatives from American Express, CNNMoney, Microsoft, New York Times, Ogilvy & Mather, Time Warner Inc., and Verizon Business.
